Inspired by Quran and Hadith to serve humanity
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
"The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever."
At First Hijrah Foundation (FHF), we believe faith and community go hand in hand. More than just a place of worship, FHF is a space where people come together to learn, grow, and support one another.
Whether it's through education, cultural programs, or community service, our goal is to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home, guided by Islamic principles of compassion, justice, and service to humanity.
FHF was born from a simple vision: to build a place where Muslims and the wider community can come together, learn from each other, and grow spiritually.
Over the years, we've grown into a recognized Islamic foundation, serving not only our members but anyone seeking guidance, learning, or community connection. Our journey reflects the Islamic tradition of building communities based on faith, knowledge, and service.
Our mission is simple: to promote understanding, compassion, and peace between Muslims and the wider community. We aim to share knowledge about Islam while serving everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of faith or background.
We strive to build a sense of brotherhood, encourage human dignity, and create opportunities for learning, growth, and collaboration. FHF also represents our community in interfaith activities, local government discussions, and public engagements, helping to build bridges and understanding.
We aim to provide programs and services that benefit everyone. While our foundation primarily serves the Muslim community, our doors are open to all, regardless of faith, background, or origin.
FHF is fully supported by the community, and we operate independently—free from influence by political groups, foreign entities, or special interests. Our organization is governed by clear bylaws, a Board of Directors, and a Board of Trustees, all elected by our members. We hold annual meetings and town halls to keep our community informed and engaged.
Guided by Islamic principles and community spirit
Showing mercy and kindness to all of Allah's creation
Seeking and sharing beneficial knowledge
Building strong bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood
Every program, event, and service at FHF is supported by a team of dedicated volunteers and leaders. Our Board of Trustees and Board of Directors work behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly—from educational programs and spiritual guidance to community events and facility maintenance.
The Trustees oversee FHF's assets and finances, approve budgets, and help guide our long-term plans.
The Directors handle day-to-day operations, implement programs, maintain our facilities, and make sure everything we do aligns with our mission. They also organize our annual meetings and report to the community regularly.
To learn more about how FHF operates and what guides our work, check out our Bylaws of First Hijrah Foundation. They explain the foundation's structure, values, and how we work together as a community.
All donations to FHF are tax-exempt, and every contribution helps us continue serving the community according to Islamic principles of charity and service.
